In order, to create the kind of impact we want to see in our societies and in our air quality, our work has to involve a number of different approaches, on the farmland and outside of it.
These are some of the technologies we use.
The Super SMS cuts the straw in small pieces and scatters it around behind the tail of the combine.
The Happy Seeder is used for sowing seed without any burning of crop residue. The Happy Seeder has an attached rotor unit in front of the seeding unit which cuts & spreads straw in between planting rows.

The Paddy Straw Chopper is a perfect machine for chopping all types of crop residue straw such as wheat, Paddy, Maize, Sorghum, Sunflower etc.
The objective for ploughing with a Mould Board is to completely invert and pulverize the soil, up-root all weeds, trash, and crop residues and bury them under the soil.
Through regularly scheduled farmers’ meets, we cover a range of topics such as straw management technologies and their advantages. We teach farmers how to use, handle, and maintain these machines independently.
We educate farmers about the benefits of renting large machines and creating a source of income from them, along with sharing success stories of other local farmers.
Within the IPSF, a change buddy is a progressive farmer who has successfully employed alternate methods to clear fields. Our Change Buddy program leverages the local influence a changemaker can have within their communities.
Farmers using alternate methods are enabled to connect with 10 to 12 farmers covering around 100 acres. These farmers then work together to pledge the use of non-burning methods on their own fields.
A Nukkad Natak has been a longstanding learning tool in rural India. Actors and performers gather at the village nukkad – the village center – and invite locals to see live performances with a message attached.
To help make a significant change possible, the IPSF team decided to employ the Nukkad Natak as a tool to teach farmers about the harmful effects of stubble burning.
We release a quarterly newsletter to share the latest update and happenings from IPSF. SUBSCRIBE BELOW
