Who We Are

IPSF is a not-for-profit entity working with farmers in rural Punjab to address the issue of stubble burning. The organisation was founded in 2017 by environmentally conscious individuals from varying business fields and a shared vision to protect and support all endeavors that are environmentally progressive. Meet our team below.

Management Team

Ritesh Bhatia

After working for multiple corporates in leadership positions for 22 years, Mr. Ritesh Bhatia transitioned his career to lead the IPS Foundation. He has been instrumental in the founding of the India Paryavaran Sahayak Foundation, which was founded with an intent to make a serious and honest contribution towards solving the air quality crisis.

Shekhar Swarup

Shekhar Swarup is a founding member of the India Paryavaran Sahayak Foundation and a Founder of India Craft Spirits Co. His family have had ties in the TERAI region since the 1700s; they were responsible for establishing one of the first few distilleries of independent India in 1958 and have been involved in India’s burgeoning alcohol industry ever since. 

Kunal Agarwal

Kunal previously founded Priority Vendor Technologies which was acquired by C2FO in 2019 as well as Brattle Foods which was acquired by the Future Group in 2015. He holds a AB Honors Degree in Economics from Harvard College. He helped establish IPSF along with Shekhar and Ritesh with an aim to work on improving the air quality of Delhi and enabling farmers to improve their livelihoods and outcomes in an environmentally sustainable way.

Advisory Board

Mr. Sridhar Iyer

Mr. Sridhar Iyer is a finance professional and was heading the Ernst & Young (EY) Foundation for more than a decade. The shift from a finance role to the social sector was prompted both by his desire to give back to society and also to try and infuse a process driven culture in the intervention areas. He has been working towards promoting low cost, mass impact and sustainable models with beneficiaries being the key participants and not just recipients in the development journey.

Mr. Jitendra Kalra

An Ex Civil Servant, Mr. Jitendra Kalra earlier worked as COO and Head of Reliance Foundation. He led the foundation’s initiatives on Rural Transformation, Watershed Management, Skilling, Health Services, Information Services and Disaster management.  Mr. Kalra had earlier served in United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as Focal Point Manager & Program Head. During his seven years tenure, he pioneered the ‘cluster development’ approach in India. Mr. Kalra has provided extensive consulting support to ILO, UNIDO Pakistan, UNIDO Iran, Development Foundations including E&Y Foundation, Cipla Family Foundation, IDH – The Sustainable Trade Initiative amongst many others. He currently serves on board of Nabard Foundation.
